Ruth Cummins Goodson

GOODSON, Ruth Cummins, 91, of Riverview, formerly of Ladson, S.C. entered into eternal rest September 26, 2014. Born in Johnstown, Penn. she was the daughter of Homer and Salena (nee McKim) Cummins. Ruth was a member of St Andrews United Methodist Church, Brandon. She was a past Matron of Summerville, S.C. Order of the Eastern Star Lodge No. 143 and Turkey Creek, Fla. Lodge No. 151, member of Daughters of the Nile Elim Temple No. 76, and Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America Sonit Court No. 103. Ruth loved gardening and traveled extensively by RV with her husband. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger W. Goodson; son, Thomas Goodson; brothers, James, Homer, Edwin and Arlo Cummins; sisters, Sara Emerick, JoAnn Cummins Miller. Survivors include her sons, Ronald Emerick, Dennis Emerick; brothers, Blair, Earl, Arthur, Robert, Bill, Richard Cummins; six grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, October 2, 2014 at Stowers Funeral Home, interment to follow at 12:30 p.m. in Florida National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
