He was actively involved in a knitting club where he would make lap blankets that was donated to local nursing homes residents along with making them for family, and friends, which would put a smile on their faces and his. He truly enjoyed all the old county western shows like, Bonanza, John Wayne movies and even the Lifetime channel at Christmas time, which was both his and his wife Judy favorite time of the year; it showed they would decorate their home so everyone could enjoy it, young or old and continued that tradition up until a few years ago.
Stanley is preceded in death by his, beautiful Wife, Judy Simmons, Father Floyd Simmons, Mother Iva Maude Simmons, and several family members and friends that meant so much to him.
He is Survived by his son, Ken Simmons, his daughters, Tanya Deras, and Tiffiney Daniels, 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 1 great, great grandson.
He will always be remembered as a good man with a kind heart, who would do anything for anyone to include all his family and friends.
The family would like to thank LifePath Hospice, for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in their final days and all the staff at Twin Creek Assisted Living, which made him feel like family every day for the past few years; especially Lisette, who he blew a kiss to every time he passed by her at Twin Creeks Assisted Living Facilities, which of course she returned right back to him.
Family and friends are welcomed to attend his graveside service at Hillsboro Memorial Gardens, located at 2323 W.
