

Flores, Tom Sanchez, 85, of Valrico passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2011. Tom was a native of Youngstown, Ohio where he graduated from Rayen High School and Youngstown State University with a Bachelors Degree in Engineering. Tom served as an Air Force Cadet in the Army Air Corp. He has lived in Florida since 1956. At his death, Tom was retired, having worked for “Gerdau-Ameristeel Corp”; formerly known as “Florida Steel Corp”. For some 29 years, Tom worked in various capacities from “Division Sales Manager” of the Tampa and Jacksonville Reinforcing Steel Division to Regional Manager of the Ft. Lauderdale Reinforcing Steel Division. He was an active member of the “Ybor City Rotary Club” and served as an usher at the Nativity Catholic Church. He did volunteer work for both the Rotary Club as well as Nativity Catholic Church. He is survived by his loving companion, Hilda Santore; daughter, Kathleen Breen and her husband Richard of Power Springs, GA; daughter, Patricia Webster of Lutz, FL; son, Michael Flores of Kennesaw, GA; son, Allen Flores of Wauchula, FL; 10 loving grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 13, from 6-7 PM with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 7 PM at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, 2323 West Brandon Blvd., Brandon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The American Heart Association or to the LifePath Hospice of Hillsborough, Inc.
