MILES, Ward P., 96, of Brandon, Fla. died August 12, 2010. He was born in Roanoke, Va. and moved to Florida from Bluefield, W. Va. in 1956. He was a retired educator, having taught in the Hillsborough County School System. Mr. Miles served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a musician and was a member of the Imperial Symphony for many years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Brandon. He was predeceased by a son, Fred Wilton and is survived by his wife of 72 years, Elizabeth; a son, Col. James W. Miles, USAF (Ret.) (Barbara); a daughter, Marsha Graves; and grandchildren, James, Tony, and Kevin Miles, Kimberly Moresco, Laurie Pearce; great-grandchild, Paige Pearce; sister-in-law, Dorothy Combs and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Monday, August 16, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Brandon. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a favorite charity.
