William Elzey Johnson

He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Barbara Ann Johnson. As well as children,

William E. (BJ) Johnson, Jr. (Tammy), Elizabeth A. Smith, and Craig A. Bright (Jeanne); Grandchildren, Johnathan, Nicholas, Micah (Leslie), Heather, Kristen (Robbie), Randall (Jessica), Ashley (Kacey), Amanda (Corey), and Christopher; Great-Grandchildren, Angel, Jordan, Addison, Johnathan Jr., Noah, Mason, Kinley, Bailey, Bellamy, Jillian, Beckett, Arabella, Izabelle, Bentley, and Miah.

Bill served with the U.S. Army, retiring at the rank of Sergeant Major in December 1983 after 30+years of service. Throughout his years of military service he was awarded many medals in recognition of his steadfast and valiant undertakings, not the least of which were The Legion of Merit, The Soldiers Medal, The Bronze Star and The Purple Heart.

After retiring to Brandon, FL in 1983, he provided 27 years of loyal service with Southern Equipment Corporation of Tampa, FL.

During his many years as a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church of Brandon, Bill enjoyed giving his time and talents to the Student Ministry and Hospitality Ministry.
