William Smithson Roberts M.D. was born December fourteenth, nineteen-forty-nine in Charlottesville, Virginia to his parents Paul and Cynthia Roberts. He received his bachelor’s degree from the College of Medicine and Dentistry New Jersey. He did his residency at Shands Hospital at the University of Florida, where he became a lifelong Gator Fan. William completed his fellowship at University of California Irvine Hospital, followed by his role at the University of South Florida as a GYN oncology specialist. He began work at Moffitt Cancer Center when it opened in Nineteen-eighty-six. He worked briefly at Watson Clinic in Lakeland, Florida, but returned to Moffitt because of his love of teaching residents and fellows, remaining there until his retirement in two-thousand-and thirteen. He is survived by his wife Sineath, sons Miles and Stratton, daughter Seneca Schwarz, son-in-law Jerrod Schwarz, grandchildren Briar and Emerson Schwarz, his brother Bruce, sister-in-law Rosemary, nephew Matthew, and niece Elaine. He also leaves behind his beloved furry friend Remi.
