Peacefully at the Brantford General Hospital on Monday June 29, 2015 at the age of 90. Loving husband of Marilyn. Dear father of Bryan (Janice), Kerry (Nancy), Patti Jones (Nathan Ruff ). Stepfather to David Hounam and Melanie Pizzey. Dear grandfather of Jody (Rob) Boughner, Ryan (Renee) Game, Joseph (Kat) Game, Kevin (Colleen) Game, Lynsey (Travis) Miedema, Paula Hounam (Rob), Tara Bohemier (Dan), Holly Pizzey, Heather Pizzey (Sean Arsenault) and Jessica Hounam. Great grandfather to 8 ½ great grandchildren. Brother-in-law to Ron and Isobel Kenyon. Doug was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church and sang in the church choir. He was an avid 10 pin bowler and served in the Navy from 1943-1945.
The family will receive friends at the “THORPE BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL” 96 West Street on Wednesday July 1st from 6:00 pm to 9:00pm. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Thursday July 2nd at 10:00 am. Interment Oakhill Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
