Florence Mech

Peacefully after a lengthy illness, at the Village of Tansley Woods, Burlington on Wednesday July 11, 2012. Beloved wife of the late Walter Mech. Loving mother of Barbara (Jim) Long and Ann Mech. Dear Babcia of Andrew and Annika. Sister of Richard, Stan (Christine), Frank and Stefanie. Predeceased by brothers Felik, Sabina, Kasia and sister-in-laws Kasia, Genia, Polla and brother-in-law Stanislaw. Sister-in-law to Robert (Jean) Mech, Ed (Thelma) Mech and predeceased by brother-in-law Joe Mech. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Mech was born in Poland and spent her early years in the Middle East, Africa, England, Saskatchewan and settled in Brantford. She was a long time employee of the W. Ross MacDonald School, a life long member of St. Joseph’s Parish and the Pearl Street Polish Hall.

The family will receive friends at the “THORPE BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME and CHAPEL” 96 West Street on Friday July 13th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm with Parish Prayers at 8:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church, 235 Brant Avenue on Saturday July 14th at 9:00 am. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
