James "Shawn" Allan Lowes

Tragically, as the result of a snowmobile accident, on January 24, 2026 at the age of 47. Proud father of Sydney (Talon), Bryson (Emilie), Kaila, and Kamryn. Cherished Papa of Bonnie. Beloved husband of Leigh. Dear son of Pat and the late Valerie (late Rick). Missed by his siblings Bryan (Helen), Cathy, Tim (Gail), Kelly (Donald), and Steven. Shawn will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, extended family, and everyone who knew him, including all of the family pets.

Shawn enjoyed shooting at the gun range, becoming a pretty decent shot. He enjoyed travelling with his family, having gone to Myrtle Beach at least once a year. Shawn was known as a handyman, especially on small engine repairs at his business, Lowes Powersports. He enjoyed the outdoors, and passed away doing what he loved. Shawn loved his gardening too, taking pride in his tomatoes and peppers. He enjoyed driving his Kubota, taking Bonnie for rides on it often.

The family would like to thank all of Shawn’s close friends and our family for their support following the accident, and the continuous show of love since. We can’t thank you enough.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Thorpe Brother’s Funeral Home (96 West Street, Brantford). A funeral service will take place in the chapel on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at 11:00 a.m., with reception following in the Carriage House. Cremation to follow.
