Josephine "Fina" Uvanile

Passed away at the Brantford General Hospital on Thursday April 5, 2012. With heavy hearts, surrounded by her family in her 88th year. Beloved wife of the late Frank Uvanile. Loving mother of Joan and her husband Bill Hansford, Frances, Frank and his wife Tracy. Cherished grandmother of Louise and Allan Allison, Nadine (Rodney) Lowery and Michelle (Gerald) Robinson of Florida and Jaime (Laing), Michael and Bailey Uvanile. Josephine was a wonderful nonna to Olivia and Morgan, Camille and Ava, Charlie and Izzy. She is survived by her sister Amelia Wright and predeceased by siblings Allessadro Collini, Anna Lombardo, Concetta DeRocco, Nick Collini, Carmella DeCampo and Tony Collini. Fina will be lovingly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, family and friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the 6th floor Nursing Staff at the Brantford General Hospital. Josephine was a constant to her extended family; cooking meals for many who can still taste her delicious sauce. Fina’s family is at peace knowing that she is comfortable and reunited with her loving husband Frank.

The family will receive friends at the “Thorpe Brothers Funeral Home and Chapel”, 96 West Street on Saturday April 7th from 4 pm to 7 pm. Prayer service in the chapel on Monday April 9th, 2012 at 1 pm. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of your choice would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in her memory in October of 2012.
