Peacefully at St. Joseph’s Lifecare Centre, on April 1st, 2014 in her 90th year. Beloved wife to the late Alvaro Medeiros. Loving mother to Maria Esmeralda and her husband Manuel Machado; mother-in-law of Helena. Avó of Shawn, Mark, Melissa, Marcy, Ashley and Clarissa. Bisavó to Alivia, Matteo and Makenzie. Sister to Armenio (Maria doCarmo), Aires and Hilberto (Azores). Maria was predeceased by two sons Valter and Alcindo, her sister Libuena and her brother Evaristo. The family will receive friends at the “THORPE BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME AND CHAPEL”, 96 West Street, Brantford, on Thursday, April 3rd from 2-4 & 6-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Basil’s Roman Catholic Church, 54 Palace St., on Friday, April 4th at 10am. Entombment Glen Oaks Memorial Gardens.
