Owen Judge Power

Dear husband of Noreen (Dawson) Power. Outgoing and beloved father to Mary-Theresa Power (Michael), Timothy Power (Karin), Christopher S. Power (Patty), and Anne-Marie Hiebert (Steven). Grandfather extraordinaire to Kimberly Strombeck (Andrew), Aaron Joshua Risi, M. Patrick Power (Melina), Brian Power (Amy), Dr. Johnathon B. Power (Lindsie), and Michaela Hiebert. Loving GREAT Grandfather to Vivian H. Strombeck (age 1) and Laya A. Power (age 3 months). Loving son of the late Jeffery and Nellie (Judge) Power. Predeceased by brother Jeffery and sisters Mary-Theresa and Helen Power. Brother-in-law to Sonya Power. Proud uncle to Shelagh Chitnis, Jeffery Power, and Anthony Power. Very proud cousin to countless family members throughout Ireland.

Owen worked in the offices for Ontario Housing & Mortgage Company, Brantford, St. Joseph’s Hospital, and Brantford UNION GAS. Throughout his life, Owen touched all our souls. Owen’s proudest accomplishments were his contributions to Brantford’s Community of Sports spanning 1955 - 2001. He was the Founder and President of the Polonaise Vets Baseball, the Brantford Separate School Baseball, and the Brantford Church Hockey League, and T-Ball to thousands of boys, ages 6-18. We all gained strength from the footprints he left on our hearts, and we will never, ever be the same without him.

Our deepest gratitude goes out to Dr. Kalra and all the Staff on Bluebird Terrace at St. Joseph’s Lifecare Centre for their outstanding support and care of Owen for the past 4 years!

Thorpe Brothers Funeral Home will welcome family and friends to attend a visitation on Wednesday, August 28, from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on August 29, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 9 Waverly Street, Brantford at 10 am. The interment is at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to St. Joseph’s LTC.
