After a courageous battle with lung cancer at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Hamilton on Friday March 14, 2014 in her 52nd year. Loving wife of John. Dear mother of Christina, Sarah (Tyler) Finucan and David. Dear Nana to Tyson, Damian, Darren, Cody, Kyleigh and Tyler. Sister of Aggie (Wayne) Skanes, Dorothy (Gerald) McGrath, Earl (Donna) Smith, Gary (Krys) Smith and Lorraine (John) Friesen. Sister-in-law of Margaret Friesen and Henry (Mary) Dyck. She will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the many doctors and nurses on ICU, St. Joseph’s Hospital for their care of Philomena. The family will receive friends at the “THORPE BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL” 96 West Street on Tuesday March 18th from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Prayer service in the chapel on Wednesday March 19th at 12:00 noon. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Lung Association would be appreciated.
