It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Roland Vincent Mayer on Monday March 16th, in his 85th year. Beloved husband of Anne (Cselenyi) for over 60 years. Dear father to William (Teresa), Susanne (John) and Anita (Joe). Loving Papa to Katarina, Nicole (Ryan), Melanie, Mary-Kate, Emily, Michael, Jessica, Nicole and Great Papa to Ella. Loving brother to Frank (Gwen,Sharon) and Lillian (late Jeno) and Uncle to many Nephews and Nieces. He was predeceased by his parents Louis, Bertha and step father William as well as brothers Louis (Nellie) and Alex (late Carol).
Roland spent 47 years at BASF (formerly Scarfes, Inmont). He was a proud member of the Brantford Hungarian Club for over 25 years as well as a member of the Brantford Knights of Columbus for over 50 years. Due to the Covid-19 outbreak a private immediate family gathering will take place at Thorpe Brothers Funeral Home in Brantford. Family and friends will be notified at a later date when we are able to have a church mass at St. Pius X Parish.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate a donation made in Roland's memory to the Stedman Community Hospice in Brantford or the Canadian Cancer Society.
We would like to sincerely thank the Stedman Community Hospice for their outstanding care and compassion through this stay and to our Dear Lord for blessing us with such a beautiful, kind and gentle husband, father, Papa and Great Papa.
