

Married in September 1948 to Lewis Walter Schultz. She met her husband Lewie (as she fondly called him) while attending Bethel College in St. Paul Minnesota. They began raising their children in Minnesota around the St Paul area, and moved to Washington in 1963, living in the Tacoma and Seattle areas. She enjoyed making a home for her family.
They came to Bremerton in 1968 where her husband was youth pastor at First Presbyterian, Bremerton, then in 1969 became senior pastor at Charleston Baptist Church, Bremerton until his passing in 1982.Ellen continued working at Charleston Baptist Church as Administrative Assistant until the age of 86 when she retired, having served there for over 40 years.
Some of her favorite experiences included working two years for the Billy Graham Association, and camping at Staircase (located in the Olympic National Park).
She is survived by four daughters – Sharon Schultz, Marjorie (Schultz) Todd, Betty Schultz, and Ellen (Schultz) Cox; and two sons – Lewis Schultz, Jr. and Stephen Schultz. Ellen had 24 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Ellen loved gardening and reading. She was a talented pianist and sang in a beautiful soprano voice. She loved decorating and planning events, which she was part of at Charleston Baptist Church for all the years she served there. She loved to share her faith with all she came in contact with, and was faithful in her daily devotional time and prayer.
Her children say to their mom: “Our dear loving mother and friend, we are rejoicing that you are now with Jesus, your Lord and Savior.”
II Timothy 4:7 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
Memorial Service will be held at Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Charleston Baptist Church, 1302 Lafayette Ave., Bremerton, at 1:00pm.
