Helen Jean Deardorff

Helen Sutton Deardorff entered into eternal rest on December 27, 2024 at the age of 92 in Bremerton, Washington. She was born May 3, 1932 in Forsan,Texas to the late Eddie Lee and Ruby Brown and at the age of 3 her family moved to San Antonio,Texas.

In 1952 Helen married John R. Sutton Sr. He was in the Navy and they moved to Corona, California where their first son, John R. Sutton Jr was born In 1953. Helen and John traveled a lot in the Navy. In 1955 their daughter Sheryl was born in Port Smith, VA and in 1959 their second daughter, Vickie Lee, was born in New London, Connecticut. In 1961 their last son, Michael, was born in Norwich, Connecticut.

Helen and John divorced in 1979 when she met John Deardorff and they married in 1983.

Helen was a hands on mom. She assisted as a Girl Scout leader, loved camping, boating, and fishing. She and John frequently travelled to Texas to visit family.

Helen worked in the Navy Exchange in Bremerton, Kitsap County Sheriff Matron, and bookkeeper at Brownsville Port and Marina.

Helen had a great love for her family and she will truly be missed by many.

Her life will be honored and celebrated on Saturday, January 11, 2025 with a visitation beginning at 11am in and Celebration of Life at 12pm in Miller Woodlawn Funeral Home.
