James “Jim” Frank Samms, Jr., 53, Bremerton resident passed away February 2, 2018. Jim was born to James and Karen (Sanders) Samms in Lynn, MA on September 4, 1964. He attended Swampscott High School in Massachusetts and later enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. After his honorable discharge, Jim found his future career at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard as a Pump Well General Forman 99.
Jim loved hiking, hunting, BBQ’s, running, reading and spending time with his family. He taught his family life lessons, morals, values, integrity, a hard work ethic and kindness. He believed that “you can’t say hate, hate is a strong word.”
He leaves behind his cherished daughters, Jillian E. Samms, Jennifer R. Ogletree, Quincy D. Boob; grandchildren, Madilyn G. Casarez, R.J. Ogletree, Ingrid E. Casarez, Fabian Antonio James Casarez and Sophia R. Boob; sisters, Sonia K. Trites, Cheryl Sill and Kim Barthel; father, James F. Samms Sr.; Nieces and nephews, Trevor James Trites, Kayla M. Trites, David Sill, Brianna Sill, Tiffany Mento, Melissa Mento and Michael Mento.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Karen E. Samms and his dogs, Betsy, Boomer and Odin.
He will be remembered by the sparkle in his eye and him saying “Love you, see ya!”
