Marilyn Park passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at the age of 28. Marilyn was born June 26, 1987 in Eugene, Oregon to Carl and Sharon Imel.
At a young age she became mommies little helper as she lovingly, and faithfully helped with her little brothers. She loved to play dress up and would often lead them in an all Imel performance that they would create together. Her protective, mothering nature for her brothers would not cease throughout the course of her life.
In 1996 she moved to St. Maries, Idaho with her family. She graduated with honors from St. Maries High School in 2004. She had a voice like an angel and sang The National Anthem at her high school graduation and for many of her school's sport events. She had great talent in acting and landed lead roles in several plays, with the highlight being Marilyn landing the role as Gretel and her oldest brother Alan landing the role as Hansel.
Her first job was at St. Maries Gazette Record where she canvased neighborhoods selling subscriptions and one year was the campaign manager for the paper drive. During her employment at Subway she worked many long hard hours after school to pay for her first car. After high school she spent one year at Prairie Bible College. She worked at Country Fair for a year where she took pleasure in working with the public. Upon moving to Silverdale, Washington she found employment with Petco which was soon to become a second home. As Assistant Manager for many years she took great pride in her work and was a great asset to the company.
On March 13, 2013 she married Ben Park, the love of her life. Their love for animals was their first connection. Outside of work they were rarely separated, commonly enjoying their yearly Comic-Con trips, lots of Frisbee Golf, dining at Olive Garden, and were avid supporters of both Marvel, and DC's movies.
Marilyn's father, Carl Imel, preceded her in death in April of 2008. She is survived by her mother Sharon Kevins & step-father Ed Kevins of Post Falls, Brothers; Alan Imel of Fernwood, Caleb Imel of Post Falls, Josiah Imel of Post Falls, Lucas Imel of Fernwood and sister Trisha Temby of The Dalles.
