

Hurd moved from Taneyville, MO to Selah, WA as a child. He graduated from Selah High School in 1951. After high school he joined the Navy and spent the next 4 years serving our country. After the Navy, he married Leona (Bucky) in 1955. They were happily married for 53 years. He had a number of odd jobs which led him to Puget Sound Naval Shipyard where he worked in the Non Destructive Test Lab until his retirement. After retirement he worked for Skookum Contract Services. He enjoyed fishing and golfing but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Hurd is survived by his daughters, Cindy and Tammy; his grandchildren, Trisha, Tracie, Trevor, Trenton, Trivia, Jamie, Cody and K.J.; and his great grandchildren Gage, Shyanne, Payton, Madison, Jaxon, Raeleigh, Anavae, Van, Thaniel, Alexus, Rainy, Kenna and Mayla.
Hurd was preceded in death by his wife Bucky.
Visitation will be held at Memorial Woodlawn Funeral Home on Kitsap Way from 4:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, September 25th and Friday, September 26th, and again on Saturday, September 27th from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Graveside services will follow at 11:00 am at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
