Sandra Lee Anderson

Our family is overwhelmed with grief and sorrow at the loss of our loved one, Sandra Lee (Arness) Anderson, 78 years old, who passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at 9:15 PM at her home in Bremerton, Washington. She succumbed to a long battle with lung cancer. Sandra was born on March 28, 1947 at home in Palisade, Minnesota, to parents, Jens and Millie Evelyn (Gudvangen) Arness. She was the 10th born of 17 siblings. She was married to Lester L Anderson, a member of the US Marine Corps, on November 18, 1966, at the First Methodist Church, Seattle, Washington. Sandra‘s children are Robin Lynn (Anderson) Smith born December 19, 1963; Katherine Joy (Striden) Rugroden born December 23, 1965 (given in adoption as a newborn); Melissa Ann (Anderson) Halsen born August 4, 1968, her spouse is David Halsen; Michael Lester Anderson born December 7, 1971 and deceased July 11, 2020. Their grandchildren are Jessica Nichole (Shiflet) Peele born January 26, 1994, her spouse is Corey Peele; Michael Christopher Shiflet born July 14, 1997; and Nicholas Lloyd Shiflet born April 12, 1999. Sandra and Lester were divorced in August 1985, but have shared a cordial and amiable relationship and mutual support since. A viewing is scheduled for 2 PM on June 20, 2025 at Miller Woodlawn funeral home Bremerton, Washington. A memorial service is scheduled for 10 AM June 24, 2025 also at Miller Woodlawn.
