Verogene "Vero" Patricia Coleman, 79, of Bowie, MD, transitioned peacefully at her home January 11, 2022. Family & friends are warmly invited to send condolences & attend spring Homegoing Memorial Service at Fort Lincoln Funeral Home, 3401 Bladensburg Rd, Brentwood, MD 20722.
Vero is the beloved mother of Rial D'Angelo Coleman & cherished wife Sandra of Hardeeville, SC; Parrish Lamont Coleman of Bowie, MD; and Ria Verdé Nicole Robinson of Alexandria, VA. She is also survived by her precious siblings & their many blessed children.
Born & raised in Washington, D.C., Vero served in various jobs throughout her career -- between Europe & America -- from cherished Elementary School Teacher to seasoned U.S. State Department Security Officer, culminating in retirement from Department of State after 33 years.
Devoted mother, she treasured her children; a woman of few words, she had a stylishly vivacious personality & always made people laugh with her sharp no-nonsense wit. Vero relished cultural curating, cooking, travel & cherished peaceful solitude, listening to soothing music & imbibing the world from her kitchen window.
Vero was a generous soul, supporting many charities. With reverence for patron St. Jude, she had personal affinity for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude's in her name.
