Antoine attended public schools in Washington, DC and Maryland throughout his K-12 career. He spent his final academic years at Thomas Edison School of Technology and Walter Johnson High School, where he graduated in 1999. Antoine most enjoyed the workforce development courses he took in drafting and construction.
After exploring a number of professional fields, Antoine settled into the culinary arts profession. He spent a number of years working as a culinary assistant, line cook, sous chef, and caterer on Capitol Hill. Working in this location allowed him to meet some of his pop culture idols on multiple occasions.
A compassionate spirit, Antoine deeply cherished authentic relationships with family and close friends. He took great joy in being a lifelong TLC fan, eating his maternal grandmother’s cooking, bartering, modeling, styling himself in bold colors, mixed patterns, and hats, surrounding himself with natural flora, and spending time with his mother when she was alive.
Antoine will forever be remembered for his sharp wit, selflessness, and resilience. His infectious laughter and quick one-liners are imprinted on our hearts today and always. We were truly blessed to have him as a grandson, nephew, uncle, and brother, and we will miss him dearly every day.
At approximately 3:30am on Friday, February 21, 2025, Antoine departed the earthly realm and entered eternal rest.
He is survived by his grandmother Loretta Jean Knight Wright; sister, A'Jeenah Thompson Chavez; two aunts, Ursula and Tia Wright; five nieces, Nia, Marissa, Elise, Daniella, and Elizabeth Chavez; one brother-in-law, Manuel, and a host of other family and friends. Antoine was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, John Elliott Wright, and his mother Sharon Wright Thompson.
