Bettie Louise Gorham Wooten departed this earthly life on November 7, 2022, suddenly at the age of 92. Bettie was the daughter of the late Louise Gorham Tucker and Andrew Bell. She attended the Pitt County Schools and graduated from H.B. Sugg High School, Farmville, NC. Bettie was a devout member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Washington, DC.
Bettie leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Charles Henry Wooten, Sr; four children, Gilda Bland Wooten Lynch, Charles Henry Wooten Jr. (Myong), Thennia Grace Wooten Tucker (James Ill) and Carrie Lynn Wooten; one brother-in-law, James B. Wooten (Celestine), 2 sisters-in-law, Annie Johnson and Pauline Wooten, three grandchildren, Justin Caldwell (June), Erica Parbon, and James Tucker IV "Bobby"; two great grandchildren, Keira Parbon and Eywa Caldwell; two sisters, Emish Fay Harris, Carolyn Jean Williams, one dearest aunt, Sadie Bell Randolph, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 16 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, 3800 Ely Place SE, Washington, DC 20019. There will be no repast, so please depart in peace and be blessed.
In Lieu of flowers, the family respectively requests donations to The American Cancer Society or The Alzheimer's Association in honor of Bettie Louise Gorham Wooten.
