

Carol Elaine Brewington was born in Washington, DC on July 13, 1949, to the late Julius and Bertha Glimps. As an only child she grew up in NE Washington and was educated in the DC public school system, and graduated from Calvin Coolidge High School. Her education continued over a period of years at the University of Maryland, and Howard University where she obtained two separate degrees. The pride of her educational achievements was her degree in Communications from Howard.
Her great secret love was to be involved in law/law enforcement. With that goal in mind, she completed the program of Paralegal Studies and often freelanced as such.
After her retirement from the Federal Government as an accountant for the Department of Defense, she pursued a successful career as a Legal Research Specialist for the law firm of Karpel, Karpel & Link for several years.
Carol was a committed volunteer for more than fifteen years at CTV Channel 76, Prince George’s Community Television, where she completed their television production curriculum and received her producer certificate. Her great sense of humor and adventurous spirit was a perfect fit, and she became part of the CTV family.
In 2005 Carol was honored as CTV’s “Volunteer of the Year” during their annual gala event, recognized for her countless hours of dedicated service, and generosity. Shortly after retiring from the federal government, she continued to work on several studio shows, also providing vital support to the evening staff, volunteering at the front desk, as the station evening receptionist. While volunteering at CTV, Carol produced her own T.V. show, Cooking with Carol, that showcased her culinary skills.
Carol went on to write two full length screenplays and two books. The Dastardly Realtor Murder and Death on the Ballot. Carol described herself as a student of human condition, using the craft of writing to enrapture the mind much like an artist wields a brush.
Carol enjoyed bowling, swimming, running, and was featured in a local health magazine for her fitness training. She also loved to travel, and enjoined herself to the VIP travel group to visit the world. Her many explorations took her to see and learn the culture was London, designated as her second home. She has traveled to Paris, cruise to the Southern Caribbean. Have seen the sites of New Zealand, Australia (Auckland, Cairns, Sydney, and Melbourne). Carol has traveled across the USA on Amtrak from Washington DC to Chicago-Grand Canyon-Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Antonio, New Orleans. She also took several bus trips to New York, to go to plays, and Atlantic City. But she fell in love with London and called it her second home.
She married Isaac Brewington on April 27, 1968. To that union was born one daughter, Julianne who preceded her in death, and her son Michael Isaac Brewington.
Carol is survived by her son Michael Brewington, three granddaughters her “precious” Mychell Brewington, Michaela Watson, Brittney Brewington and one grandson Elijah Cooke. She was preceded in death by her husband Isaac Brewington. She is also survived by her devoted cousin Reva Ware,
her daughter-in-love Robin Bunch, her special friend Gina Bartee, four great grandchildren, loving cousins along with many family and friends.
