Carolyn Denise Scott was born to the late John Francis Scott Jr. and the late Virginia Mae Cleveland on February 24, 1957, in Washington, DC. She was the 7th of 8 children. She departed this earthly life on Thursday, April 25, 2024. She went to sleep peacefully and woke up in heaven. She was 67 years old.
Carolyn completed her primary education in DC public schools. She graduated class of 1975 from Cardozo High School. She was a gifted artist who loved painting, drawing, taking pictures and crocheting. Carolyn enjoyed reading, listening to music and spending time with her family.
On April 27, 1992, Carolyn married Ronald Richmond Sr. They remained married until he was called to glory on August 15, 2016. Carolyn upheld her vows to Ronald and cared for him through his battle with Cancer. Together they had 4 children, 6 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.
Carolyn was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, showering her children with a love that was unconditional. Her beauty and kindness were unparalleled. She was affectionate, dedicated and always put the needs of others above her own.
Carolyn is now reunited in heaven with her parents, her husband, 3 siblings Evelyn Manning, Robert Scott, and Ronald Scott as well as countless family and dear friends. Carolyn is survived by 4 children Tanisha Richmond (Marcel Mills Sr.), Ronald Richmond Jr., Dennis Scott (Phyliss Scott), and Antionette Profitt (Delonte Profitt). 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren who she adored Tamara Richmond (Ava, Morgan, Kasey, and Kevon Jr), Mariah Richmond (Giovanni and Wesley), Jailynn Scott, Mya Mills, Marcel Mills Jr, and Tristan Richmond. 4 siblings Arthur Ware, Larry Scott, Nathaniel Scott Sr, and Sayana Talbert. She leaves a host or cousins, nieces, and nephews whom she loved dearly.
O God, whose mercies cannot be numbered accept our prayers on behalf of Carolyn Scott and grant her an entrance into the land of light and joy through Jesus Christ thy son our Lord who liveth and reigneth with thee and thee Holy Spirit of God now and forever. Amen.
A visitation for Carolyn will be held Thursday, May 9, 2024 at 10:00 AM. Following the visitation will be a funeral service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Fort Lincoln Funeral Home, 3401 BLADENSBURG RD, BRENTWOOD, MD 20722.
