Daisy was born on August 23, 1927 to Henrietta Genus (née Robertson) and Frank Genus in the town of Auchtembeddie, Manchester, Jamaica. Daisy left home to work in Kingston where she met and married Ferdinand McIntyre in 1952. Daisy and “Ferdie” migrated to London where they raised their family of four and were successful entrepreneurs owning a club called The Fanta Club. Her beef patties served at The Fanta Club were renowned locally and sold out quickly. Daisy migrated to New York in 1968 where she worked as a nurse’s aide/caregiver and reunited her family in Brooklyn two years later. In 1995, Daisy relocated to The Woodlands, Texas and established an in-home day care center where she operated her daycare until she retired in her early 80s. She continued her beef patty business to the delight of the community.
Daisy is survived by two daughters, one son, five grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren. Her nieces, nephews, friends and children she cared for were as dear to her as her immediate family.
