Fort Lincoln Funeral Home & Cemetery

Daniel Domingo DaCosta Jr., lovingly known as Louie, was born on Christmas day, December 25, 1962, and departed this life, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and artistic brilliance. Louie, born the second oldest of six kids, was a kind hearted soul, an extraordinary artist, and a beloved friend, brother, uncle, and godfather.

Louie was a proud graduate of the Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Georgetown, DC, where he nurtured his immense creative talent. His passion for art was evident in every piece he crafted, from awe-inspiring dioramas to captivating murals that brought life and emotion to every brushstroke. His artistic vision was truly one of a kind.

From 1981 to 2006, Louie dedicated himself to his career at GEICO before transitioning to the United States Postal Service, where he served as a Courier Director. Through his work, he built strong relationships and left a lasting impact on those he encountered.

Art was not just a pastime for Louie, it was his life's work. He found immense joy in drawing, painting, and selling his masterpieces, ensuring that his creative spirit would be shared with the world. Beyond his artistic gifts, Louie was known for his infectious humor. He had a natural ability to bring joy to others, especially his siblings, with whom he shared an unbreakable bond of love and laughter.

Louie is survived by his loving younger siblings, Antonio Sr, Ricardo, and Lisa; his devoted nieces, Missy, Nikki, Sharnice, and Charity; nephews, Eric and Antonio Jr, his cherished goddaughter, Kayla and a host of additional loved ones. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know and love him.

Louie’s presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us all.
