

The family moved to Richmond, VA where he was educated in Richmond Public Schools. He accepted Christ at a very young age and attended Zion Baptist Church in Richmond, VA. After graduation David moved to New York City.
Upon moving to New York City in 1972, David worshipped and sang in the choir at Meek Baptist Church, Bronx, NY. Despite the challenges of living with epilepsy, David made a life for himself participating in civic and community outreach programs, including The National Action Network. As an avid photographer he was never without a camera, which charmed and alarmed his family and friends with his many candid shots.
With declining health David moved to Washington, DC to live with his sister Joyce Harris Page. In his short time there, David made meaningful connections, engaging people with his humor and unique perspective on life.
David is pre-deceased by his infant twin brother, Daniel, his parents and sister Joan Harris Wilson. David leaves to mourn his passing his loving sister Joyce Harris Page; aunt, Oria Alston, Littleton, NC; devoted cousins Clinton Ferrell (Etta), Jamaica, NY, Mattie Courtney (Ernest), Richmond, VA and Samuel Alston, Roanoke Rapids, NC, childhood best friend William Pernell Andrews and a host of other relatives, friends and classmates of the Blackwell School Community of Richmond, VA.
