

Diane received her primary education through the District of Columbia public schools system where she graduated from Dunbar Senior High. After completing her High School Diploma, she enrolled at Montgomery Community College completing her degree, and asserted herself into society to go on with her big dreams. For over 35 years, Diane served as a civil servant in the Federal Government as a central office administrator In the White House during the Kennedy Administration, then transferring to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, retiring as a Supervisor of Visual Arts- Publications & Reprographics. However, the roles she cherished most were those of a Servant of God and Youth Nutrition Manager where she displayed the greatest lesson she shared with us; The importance of kindness and the act of showing love to one another.
A beautiful soul who cared deeply about kindness and believed in God, Diane was most pleased when she saw others spreading love and care.
Diane held a deep affection for spending time with her family throwing gatherings and immersing himself (herself) in films. . Her favorite film to watch was “Dream Girls” and her favorite hobbies were travel, cooking, catering, and all the new electronics.
After her retirement she volunteered at a local elementary school as an assistant teacher where her granddaughter attended, and from there went on to pursue her culinary career at Strayer University. After completing her culinary studies, Diane took on the role of General Manager at Levi’s of Lake Arbor. In continuation of her culinary journey, Diane aka “Lady D” Incorporated Ms. Bee’s Home Cooking Restaurant and Catering Service. Diane’s preference for the color purple was indicative of her rich, royal character - loving, caring, perhaps a tad spicy, and always happy.
The Lord called Diane, 83, home this Fall of 2025. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her two sons, Carl Wright Jr., Anthony Ernest Wright, and the love of her life, William Boxley.
She is survived by her first husband Carl Wright, sisters Janet and Inga, many nieces/nephews, and her granddaughter Margo (some of whom she raised or showed a better way of life).
Today, We let go of a remarkable woman, a loving mother, a doting grandmother, and a kind soul. As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the love, joy, and kindness that were the essence of Diane’s being. Diane touched the lives of everyone who had the honor of knowing her. Her selflessness, warmth, and generous spirit will be remembered forever. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and compassion that lives on in all of us.
