Doris Joan McDonald

Doris J. McDonald passed away peacefully at home on April 14, 2022.

Doris was born January 14, 1932 in Takoma Park, Maryland. She was a nurturing mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, “Aunt Joanie” to many and a friend to all. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, including all the fur-babies in the house-though she sometimes pretended they irritated her. She enjoyed her family, serving the Lord and baby-sitting.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband John J. McDonald Sr, and one son, Michael C. McDonald. She is survived by daughter-in-law Michelle McDonald, sons John J. McDonald, Jr. (Louise), Kevin D. McDonald (Deborah), Todd A. McDonald (Pamela). She also leaves behind her grandchildren; Christopher McDonald (Shannon), Kristi Berk (Ari), Tanya Hartman (Richie), Mareesa Welch (Justin), Olivia Allread (Forest), Mallory McDonald, Devon McDonald and Baylee McDonald and her great-grandchildren Colin McDonald, Madison McDonald, Wolf Allread and Lark Allread. Doris will also be fondly remembered by her care-giver, Laura Walker. The family would like to extend special thanks to Delaware Hospice for their role helping Doris continue her journey and assisting the family during a difficult time.

Funeral service and burial will be private at Ft. Lincoln Funeral Home and Cemetery, Brentwood, Maryland. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, Delaware 19963 or www.delawarehospice.org
