A Celebration of Life
Emmitt was born on February 20, 1950, to the late Emmitt Morris Sr. and Rosie Morris. Emmitt
departed this life on June 27, 2024. He fought a "good fight" thanking God each day.
Emmitt was raised in Ironton, Ohio and attended Ironton High School where he graduated in
1968. He was a track star and was known then as "String Bean" because of his speed and
skinny legs. He was a great dancer and loved to swing his legs up high.
Emmitt was a Christian and a Good Samaritan who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ and His
teachings. Emmitt was known and loved by his friends and neighbors for his caring and giving
of himself. He was a great cook (especially on Thanksgiving), a Jack of all trades always
working on the house and known as "Doc" for helping his fellow man.
Emmitt especially loved nature, always feeding the birds and small animals.
Emmitt left Ironton, Ohio to pursue a career in Washington, DC. He was a dedicated and highly
respected employee at Howard University Hospital for over 25 years where he worked as an
Ultrasound and EEG Technologist.
Emmitt was a loving husband and a caring father. He cherished his grandchildren and loved to
write wonderful letters to them. He always remembered everyone's birthday.
Emmitt was a beautiful person. He will always be in our hearts because his spirit lives on.
Emmitt is survived by his wife Brenda of 47 years, his children Khaya, Chenelle and her
husband Jordan, grandchildren Eli and Zoie; siblings Anna, Lottie, Jimmy and his wife Barbara,
