JOSHUA TERRELL DAVIS was born in Washington, DC on May 4, 1998 to Pastor Gary and Belinda Davis. He was the youngest of four children. Joshua was a man of God and on August 3, 2020, God called him to his heavenly home.
Religion and Community Activities – Joshua accepted Christ and was baptized in 2010 and became a member of Grace United Baptist Church. Joshua loved the Lord and during his membership at Grace, he faithfully served as an Usher, Youth Choir member, and Sunday school teacher. His love for God was demonstrated as he contributed to the community and society. He participated in
ongoing activities such as serving food to the homeless at Springfield Baptist Church and with his home church at Mitch Snyder’s Shelter. He was even awarded “Future Man of the Year” by his church family. Moreover, Joshua recognized that people needed help all over the world, so he went on a missionary trip to Costa Rica his senior year of high school. While at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (N.C. A&T), Joshua became a part of the Village Mentoring Organization, which
develops professional young men and community leaders.
Education – Joshua was a genuine product of Prince George’s County, Maryland. His education began at Clinton Christian School (CCS) in Upper Marlboro as a preschool student where he finished his elementary education. He then transitioned to Prince George’s Public Schools and entered Kettering Middle School. After finishing middle school, Joshua began high school at Charles Herbert Flowers High School in the Science and Technology Program where he maintained honor roll status all
three years. He later returned to CCS to complete his high school senior year. During his senior year, Joshua was awarded the Principal’s Honor Roll Award and 3rd place regional spelling bee finalist. Joshua received his high school diploma in May 2016 with a cumulative GPA of 3.2. He then matriculated to N.C. A&T and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Applied Cultural Thought on July 27, 2020.
Sports Participation – Joshua was a star in three different sports. He played football, basketball, and ran track. Joshua started with the Kettering-Largo-Mitchellville (KLM) Boys and Girls Club as a young boy playing football. However, Joshua’s true love besides God and family was basketball. This love manifested as he mastered his craft. Friends and neighbors would constantly see Joshua shooting hoops in the driveway for hours even on hot summer days. He continued to play basketball throughout high
school and for various Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) teams. Joshua frequently watched basketball, and Kobe Bryant was his favorite NBA star.
Entrepreneur – Joshua was one of the hardest working entrepreneurs that ever lived. He started selling on eBay at the age of 15, and he would sell anything he could. His family had to watch him because even their personal items would be on eBay for sale. He continued trading and selling until August 3rd in which, he received Beats Headphones by Dr. Dre and Apple Air Pods from Amazon. He was about to make several thousand dollars in sales. Joshua was all about business and making money. He had
planned to buy a house next year, and he had saved quite a bit of money to do so.
Living Life – Joshua lived the dash, which is the time between when you are born and when you die. He was extremely energetic. He enjoyed dancing, helping friends and neighbors, spending time with family, going to the beach, traveling, playing cards, chess, video games, and tattoos. In the 22 years that he graced this earth, he thrived spiritually, academically, and socially as he contributed to his community in countless ways. Joshua will be deeply missed by his family, friends, neighbors, and church members.
