Keith Barrington Fowler was born in Washington DC to Milton and Catherine Fowler. He joined siblings Franklin and Arthur, Khayriyyah (Marie), Sharon, Wayne and Carolynn. Later Dwight joined the family.
Keith was educated in the DC Public Schools and Gonzaga High School. After graduating from Dunbar High School he attended Kentucky State University. Returning to Washington DC he worked in several positions at hotels and accounting before joining Blue Cross Blue Shield/CareFirst in 1986 where he retired. He loved his jobs and would very seldom take time off.
Keith was a very loving, kind, generous person. Always smiling and willing to help. He loved his family and that love was reciprocated. Keith also loved to cook and would provide delicious dishes for all family gatherings. Although Keith had no children of his own he was a father figure to many of his nieces and nephews.
Keith loved sports, especially football and basketball. He played basketball and football in High School, College and for leisure. He was a fan of the Washington Teams but watched all games. He had a special admiration for the college games and would take off each year to watch the March Madness games.
Keith is survived by two brothers Wayne (Bernadette), Dwight (Jennifer) and one sister Carolynn. Three nieces, Cheryl, Mika and Leah. Four nephews, Reginald, Bryant, Brandon and Byron. A host of great- nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A special gratitude to his great-nephew James who provided care and companionship to him in his last years.
Keith’s kindness, smiles, generosity, and love will surely be missed. That beautiful spirit that existed in his 6’5” frame and his heart will live in us forever.
