

The youngest of their three daughters, she developed an unbreakable bond with her father, and became quite the “Daddy’s Girl”. The two were inseparable. Kim’s parents introduced her to the love of God, and Kim began following the teachings of Jesus Christ at an early age. Kim regularly attended First Baptist Church of Glenarden in Upper Marlboro, MD in her adult life.
A native Washingtonian , Kim received her education in the District of Columbia Catholic and Public School Systems. She sang in the choir at St.Martin's and she looked forward to the annual Christmas concerts. She graduated from Spingarn High School.
After high school, Kim acquired a specialized skill set in preparation for her work in public service. She went on to pursue a career in federal government where she spent 35 years in the field of administrative management. She started her career working for Department of Labor and later transferred to Department of Commerce (NOAA). Kim spent the last twelve years of service in her position with the U.S. Census Bureau in Suitland, Maryland where she considered retiring.
Kim was always a beautiful person with a very outgoing personality. It was a surprise to no one when she caught the eye of young Conrad, and they fell head over heels in love. Shortly thereafter, they would pledge their commitment to each other through the honor of marriage. They exchanged their vows before God, their families and their friends on November 4, 1989.
The love they shared was unparalleled and served as the segue to creating their beautiful family. They welcomed four amazing children into their hearts. Shemeika, Conrad (CJ), Jordan and Ryan changed their lives forever.
Kim loved her children very much. She dedicated her life to being the best mother she could be, and committed herself to equipping them with what they needed to survive in life. She loved them hard with every fiber of her being. Even though they are all grown up, she often referred to them as her babies. There was no greater joy for Kim than loving on her children, that is, until she had grandchildren. Kim’s grandchildren were the very beat of her heart. She loved to cook and have them over for dinner. She also enjoyed shopping for them and buying them nice things. She especially loved spending time with them during the holidays. Thanksgiving and Christmas were her favorites.
Kim was very trendy and had a very fashion-forward sense of style. One was easily amazed by her ability to effortlessly pull together a high-fashion ensemble. She took a sincere interest in aesthetics and natural beauty, and had very artistic taste in clothing and jewelry. Kim was well known for her long luxurious hair and neatly manicured nails. The array of Alex & Ani bangles that draped her arm were her trademark.When being introduced to people , she made it clear that her name was KIm and not KImberly! Sharon ( her older sister ) often said Kim corrected her when she stated she was her baby sister, Kim would say "No im the younger sister".
Kim found great delight in attending family gatherings and spending time with her family and friends at parties and cookouts listening to Oldies music and GoGo.Kim especially loved Chuck Brown and Patti Labelle, and Luther Vandross. She loved to shop, go out to eat and spend hours on end talking on the phone - especially FaceTime with her grandchildren. Her most beloved past time was curling up on the sofa with Conrad to watch some of their favorite tv shows. Kim was also known for famous potato salad and home cooked meals. She was a beautiful spirit will forever be missed.
Kim leaves to cherish her legacy: Her devoted husband, Conrad; four children - Shemeika, CJ, Jordan, and Ryan; one daughter-in-law, Charmae; eight grandchildren - Mizani, Welvin Jr., Sheyenne, Isabella, Cha’Mya, Cha’Mia, Keith and Cha’Mari; one
great-granddaughter, Milanii; her loving mother, Alice; her mother-in-law, Amy; sisters Sharon and Olivia; God-sisters Diane and Beverly; three godbrothers , Chris, Junior, and Phillip one Godmother Joan ; three brothers-in law, Curtis, Michael, Alan, three nieces, Tammy, Arlethia and Janita; One Nephew, Nick;a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.
Kim is preceded in death by her father, Keith; her father-in-law, Benny; and her brother-in-law, Carlton.
