

Mrs. Leola Mae Williams, the former Leola Baine, was born on February 4, 1930, to the late Robert and Etta Baine in Snow Hill, MD. She was one of 15 children. She was the widow of Mr. Charlie Williams. On Thursday, May 9, 2024, she was called from labor to reward.
Mrs. Williams was educated in the Maryland Public School System. For many years, she worked as a housekeeper. She loved to cook for family and friends, which eventually led her to become a caterer.
She loved the Lord with all of her heart. She was a life-member of Trinity AME Zion Church located in the Northwest quadrant of Washington, DC, where she was very active in different ministries. She served as the President of the Usher Board. While at this branch of Zion, she received many accolades. She also loved her surrounding neighborhood and community and served as a Board Member at the Target Store located on 14th Street, NW, in the Columbia Heights neighborhood.
In addition to her parents, Robert and Etta Baine, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Williams.
She leaves to cherish her memory, five children, Patricia D. Williams, Charles R. Williams, Sr., Earl D. Baine, James H. Baine and Lottie Battle; six grandchildren, Stanley Heath, Charles R. Williams, Jr., David A. Williams, Aubrey Sheard, and Andrianne Baine; one brother, Robert Baine; other loving relatives; friends and the members of Trinity AME Zion Church.
