
Leslie Reese Bryant, 99, died April 14, 2020, in Greensboro, NC. He was born March 24, 1921, in Caitlin Hollow, PA, and was a WWII war hero among many other accomplishments. He served as an Army Medic Sergeant, Co. D 103rd Medical Btn, 28th Infantry Division. On D-Day, June 6, 1944, he was stationed as a Medic in London; he was part of the replacement troop that arrived on Omaha Beach, Normandy, France twenty days later to continue to repair the wounded. On the 60th anniversary of D Day, he was honored in France, where he was knighted and awarded the French Legion Medal of Honor by then President Jacques Chirac. He was given The Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal, Pre-Pearl Harbor Medal, American Theater Medal, European Theater Medal, Germany Occupation Medal, and Combat Medical Badge. Later in his life he was an accountant and had an accounting firm, Bryant & Co., in College Park, Maryland. He was predeceased in life by his first wife, Anabel Jean, who died in 1981, and his second wife, Clarice Evelyn who died in 2019. He is survived by two daughters, Jacqueline and Catherine; a son, John; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and his three step-sons and their families.
