

Michael Lynch, also known as “Big Mike”, transitioned on August 26, 2019. Michael was born in Washington DC on June 25, 1957 to Emma and Odell Lynch.
He graduated from Phelps Vocational High School with a trade in brick layering. He was a member of the Military proudly serving in the Army. Michael joined the Fort Myers Army Base as a cook.
He also worked in construction, where he helped build the Azeeze- Bates and Pentacle Apartments in North East, Washington DC. He worked over 30 years along with other part time jobs. He loved working, giving back and extending commendable acts of service.
Michael was a great debater. You didn’t have a chance of winning a debate with Michael, especially when it came to the Dallas Cowboys. He was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan! He loved watching football, WWF wrestling and talking on the phone. He was such a joker. He played so much. His sense of humor would truly brighten up anyone’s day. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
Michael is survived by his Wife of 30 years Janet Lynch, daughters Stephanie Whitaker, Janeka Battle, Maneka and Maleka Lynch, two sons Jasper and Jason Battle, three sisters Roberta Carpenter, Eva Lynch and Doris Harper and one brother Robert Lynch, nine grandchildren, three generations of nieces and nephews (172 total), His Mother-In-Law, six sister-in-laws and a host of cousins, family and friends.
