

Patricia Ann Marshall was born December 28, 1951, the third of seven children, to the late Reverend Eugene M. Marshall, Jr. & Fannie E. Marshall in Washington, DC. She entered into eternal rest on October 6, 2022, in Fort Washington, Maryland.
Patricia was educated in Washington, DC public schools and graduated from Anacostia High School in 1969.
She accepted Christ as a young girl at Rehoboth Baptist Church in SW Washington, DC, later becoming a life-long member of Upper Room Baptist Church, located in NE Washington, DC.
As a young graduate, Patricia embarked on furthering her education as an accounting student at Washington Technical Institute. She soon began an extensive career in the Federal Government, finding employment at various agencies including the General Services Administration (GSA), the Department of Transportation, as well as the Department of Treasury. After several years with the Federal Government, Patricia became a dedicated employee of the U.S. Postal Service, ultimately ending her career working for various private organizations, including the American Legion, formally retiring in 2015.
Patricia entered into holy matrimony with Gregory Clarke in 1976. Although there were no children born of this union, which ended, and a lifelong friendship continued, with Patricia spending her life as a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, great-aunt, and godmother.
A life-long Christian, Patricia committed herself to helping and caring for others. She was a member of different ministries of the church, served as a mentor at Brooklyn’s Teen Challenge program, and remained involved in numerous community organizations. Patricia was known for serving as our family historian, keeping our family history and memories alive throughout the years.
Patricia was beautiful, inside, and out. She was definitely a fashionista—never leaving the house without the most fashionable clothes, shoes, jewelry, and makeup. She could recite every storyline of the ABC soaps, following the stories and characters consistently for years. Patricia enjoyed spending time with her family, watching game shows, and enjoying good old western shows. She was a great cook, known for her macaroni & cheese and seafood salad.
Patricia Ann, as she was fondly called by many, christened her family members with nicknames, forever bestowed upon us: "Phush" (her sister, Phyllis); "Tatawah" and “Little girl” (her niece, Tamara); "Slim Goody" (her niece, Christina); and “A-B-C-D” (her cousins Amanda, Amber, Amyya and Amina). Patricia will be remembered for her sense of humor, her smile, and for extending her friendship, love, and care to all.
After the passing of her younger sister Regina, Patricia became a ‘second mother’ to her niece, Tamara Marshall, and nephew, Thomas Marshall.
Patricia was proceeded in death by her father & mother, as well as her sister Regina. She leaves to cherish her memory, her siblings, Jacqueline Charity, Phyllis, Vivian, Eugene, and Gregory Marshall; nieces and nephews Donald Groves, Michael (LaShawn), Tamara, Christina (Chris), Thomas (Valerie), Katera (Josh), Marche’, Nalo, Gregory Jr., Alexis, Kaprice, Brianna; cousins Zanetta, Robin, Robert, Zenas, Amanda, Amber, Amyya, Amina, Naomi, MiAngel Washington, great-nieces and nephews Michael, Nicole, Lauren, Taylor, Austin, Kayla, Thomas Jr., Michael, James; god-daughter Jocelyn Marshall, and life-long devoted friendships with Joyce Satterwhite, Carolyn Baker, Linda Jones, Kathy Randall, Charles Wallace, Diane Carrington, Charles & Rev. Roselyn Withers, Evangelist Catherine Bego, and a host of loving family and friends who will forever miss her.
