Pearl was one of my best friends of 40 years!! She was my girl. She was one of few people that I could talk to about anything, without judgement. She was genuine and had a big heart...a sweet soul!! She loved the Lord and her faith in him, (I believe) turned an initial 6 months prognosis, into a 6 year journey of hope for the future. I have years of cherished memories to reflect on and feel blessed to have been a part of her journey.  Love you forever and always

was so beautiful inside and out.



I had my father's car and I drove over to the parking lot off of Benning road, across from the golf course. I called myself teaching Pearl how to drive. I figured that the lot was big and empty enough that nothing could happen! We were the only people on the whole lot. Pearl gets behind the wheel (check mirrors, move up the seat, Drive, Reverse, etc...). Pearl steps on the gas and we start driving around the lot. Laughing, radio on, cool! After about 10 minutes, I figure I can just relax while my good friend Pearl drives. Oh, boy! Must have dozed off for a minute. Next thing I know I am flying in the air and the car is leaning to the side. I look over at Pear and I say Pearl how did you have a accident in a empty parking lot. We just started laughing. The car wasn't damaged. She just ran over one of the curbs. So funny! I will miss you Pearl! Love, from your brother Gary Long! You will be missed! You also had a beautiful singing voice!

It seems that birthday was our thing! She helped me celebrate my 50th.

Pearl was just that a precious "Jewel" she left an impression when I first met her.  She chose her words wisely but when she spoke it carried substance.  We talked about our children often; she loved her Family dearly.  

Pearl was a Woman of GOD, her faith, life and courage spoke volumes.

To Mr. Notice and children; may GOD grant you the strength & Peace in the days to come.
