

Sharon blessed the world with her presence on July 11,1958 in Ahoskie, North Carolina to the late Marie Sessoms. Sharon had 4 sisters; EdnaMae Weaver, Phyllis Anne Harrell, Loretta Jones, preceded her in death LeGail Sessoms-Tann and 1 brother Lester Sessoms. Sharon had half siblings from her father Elmo Privott also preceded her in death. Living are Patricia Privott, Cynthia Privott, Raymond Privott, Chester Privott and preceded in death Delores Washington, Dora Privott & Jackie Privott.
Sharon graduated from Ahoskie High class of 1976, where she was joined the marching band as a flag girl. After graduation she relocated to Washington, DC and married Joseph William Edwards Jr. in 1982. During their union they had two children Sonia & Tia Edwards. They were married many years until Joseph preceded her in death. While married Sharon started a career working at First National Bank of Washington and became the Finance Supervisor for over 10 years. After many years in Washington DC Sharon moved and purchased her first home in Suitland, Maryland with her children. Sharon ventured out and started her own floral arrangements business which was one of her many hobbies, along with hosting card games with good friends as well as hanging out at casinos. Everyone who knew Sharon knew she was a straight forward tell it like it is kind of woman with good intention & from the heart.
Sharon developed a passion for foster children which she cared for in her home for many years and kept in contact with a few until her eternal resting day. Sharon furthered her education at the University of Phoenix where she received her certification as a Nursing Assistant.
Sharon changed directions in her life an gained employment at several group home organizations servicing disabled individuals for over 10 years as a Residential Counselor and Office Manager until she decided to open her own mental health business Chrisharon's Inc.
Sharon retired in 2012 and moved to Bowie, MD with her long-time friend of 20 years Jax Jenkins who was by her side threw thick & thin after Sharon was diagnosed with congestive heart & kidney failure.
Sharon leaves her two daughters Sonia Edwards & Tia Edwards to cherish her memories along with 8 grandchildren Jonathan Anderson, Jamari Anderson, Elijah Edwards, Darius Edwards, Robin Edwards, Isaiah Edwards, Serenity Edwards and Neva Edwards.
Sharon will be truly missed beyond memory, legacy and love by her nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and colleagues.
