

Our beloved Willie Lee Brown transitioned from his earthly domain to his heavenly home on the evening of March 15, 2021.
Willie was born on January 5, 1939 in Laurens, S.C. to the late Willie Eskin Brown and Dometry Williams Brown. Willie attended school in Brooklyn, New York and also Washington, D.C. He graduated from Spingarn High School in 1956. Willie also attended Howard University for a couple of semesters.
Willie and Ruth Mitchell got married on January 16, 1997 after serving 37 years of service. In 1970, Willie became a young entrepreneur working with his mother in the family business, J&D Market, in Washington, DC.
On his spare time, Willie stayed devoted and loyal to this family and friends, loved to go fishing, loved to travel, enjoyed taking pictures, and was a diehard REDSKINS fan.
Looking over the Balcony of Heaven to welcome him home is his parents, Willie and Dometry Brown, infant son, grandparents, aunts, uncles, in-laws, and friends.
After his transitioning, Willie leaves to mourn his memories, his loving, devoted, and caring wife of fifty years, Ruth Brown, a son, Keith Mitchell, three grandsons, Ryan, Christian, and Cameron Mitchell, a niece, LaJuan McCray, six nephews, Franklin, Gregory, Rodney, and Kermit McCray, Gilbert Buchanan, and Keith Buchanan, an aunt Sylvia Austin, an uncle, Samuel Williams, and his great niece, Donetta Williams, who assisted in his caring.
