

Eva Mae Parker, 97, of Bridgeport, died Wednesday, October 18th, 2006 at Morrill County Community Hospital in Bridgeport. Services will be held at 10:00am, Saturday October 21st at the Church of Christ in Bridgeport with Pastor Jonathan Seng officiating. Friends may call on Friday, October 20th from 1-8pm at Bridgeport Memorial Chapel. Interment will be at the Broadwater Cemetery. Eva was born May 1st, 1909 in Lee County, IL to James and Sara (Bigley) Armstrong. She spent her early childhood near and around Gage Co, Ne. She married Lloyd Hall in 1927, and to this union a daughter, Charlotte was born. She married Dave Parker on March 23, 1929 in Grand Island and to this union 4 girls & 4 boys were born. Dave and Eva lived in Loup County until 1937 when they moved to Broadwater. In Eva’s early years, besides caring for her husband and children, she helped paint buildings. In 1961 they moved to Laramie, WY. After Dave’s passing in 1965, Eva was a cook for 10 years with the University of Laramie and then a copy clerk for the Forestry Service for 5 years. In 1987 she moved into the Ivinson Home for women and then in 2002 she moved back to Heritage of Bridgeport. She was a past member of the VFW Auxiliary, Golden Age Club, Women of the Moose, Rebekah Lodge, Pythian Sisters and AARP. She was a very active member in each of the organizations. She is survived by her daughters Leona (Emil) Dobrinski of Bridgeport, Reva (Skip) Huston of Torrington, WY; son Bill (Mary Jo) Parker of Charlotte, NC, daughters-in-law Elfrieda Parker of Rolla, MO, Ellie Parker of Torrington, WY, LaVonne Parker of Dalton; son-in-law Carl Saunders of Laramie, WY; 35 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren, 30 great-great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Her husband Dave; daughters Charlotte Wlaschin, Dorabelle Saunders, Donadell Wheeler; sons Orvil, Davie, Clyde; 3 sisters and 1 brother precede her in death.
