Maria Elena Ybarra

Maria E. Ybarra, 71, of Bayard, entered into rest on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at her home. Maria was born May 29, 1943 at Bloomington, Texas to Alberto and Aurora Espinoza and was raised by Joe and Maria Hernandez. She worked alongside her family as a migrant laborer for several years and traveled all over the country. She was united in marriage to Julian Sanchez Ybarra, Sr. on October 30, 1967 at Hereford, Texas. Maria was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, making homemade clothes for the family, and was an excellent cook.

Maria and Julian moved to Bayard in 1993 to be closer to family. She liked to watch novellas and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a longtime member of the Catholic Church.

Maria is survived by her daughters Mary Trevino and Gracie (Ricardo) Trevino all of Bayard and Yolanda (Manuel) Casas and Josie Rios all of Hereford, TX; sons Julio Ybarra from Bayard and Julian Ybarra, Jr. from Toledo, Ohio; 35 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; brothers Juan, Joe, and Augustine Hernandez all from Casa Grande, AZ; sisters Concha Preto from California, Hilda Jimenez and Ortencia Pinon both of AZ; mother Aurora Estrada of Texas; nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Maria was preceded in death by her husband Julian Ybarra, Sr, sister Augustina Balises, brother Manuel Hernandez; father Alberto Espinoza; parents Joe and Maria Hernandez; two sons Ernesto and Julio Ybarra; daughter Damantina Ybarra; and son-in-law Silvester Trevino, Jr.
