

She had been residing at the Little Sisters of the Poor Jeanne Jugan Residence in the Bronx since 2012.
Ellen lived and raised her family on Haight Avenue in the Morris Park section of the Bronx since 1955.
Ellen was born in Carrigallen , Co. Leitrim, Ireland on March 30, 1923 to Mary and Francis Cooke.
She moved to New York City in 1945 and married Peter Stacom in 1955.
They raised a family in the Catholic tradition in the parish of St. Francis Xavier.
Ellen and Peter had three children, Mary, Francis and Peter.
She was a devout Catholic and participated daily in mass at St. Francis Xavier church.
Ellen was a woman of grace and dignity and always put the needs of others in front of her own.
She worked at St. Raymond's High School for Boys as part of the lunch room staff for more than 20 years.
Ellen is survived by her sons Francis and his wife Sally of Chittenden VT, and Peter of Norwalk CT;
grandchildren Julia Stacom of Bronx, NY, Neal Stacom of Chittenden VT, and Peter Stacom and Gillian Stacom of Norwalk CT;
siblings Paddy Cooke, Teresa Donohoe and Sr. Kathleen Cooke in her home of Ireland; and 36 nieces and nephews in the USA and Ireland.
She was predeceased by her daughter Mary in 1989, her husband Peter in 1991 and by her siblings May Gilchrist, Bridget Murray, Rita Maguire and Rev. John Cooke.
The viewing is scheduled for Sunday April 30, 2017, 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the John Dormi and Sons Funeral Home.

The funeral is scheduled for 10:00 AM on Monday May 1, 2017 at the St. Francis Xavier Church with burial to follow at St. Raymond's Cemetery in the Bronx.
