Savino F. DiBitetto

Savino Frank (Sonny) DiBitetto, 80, passed away Monday, April 16, 2018 at Montefiore Einstein Hospital in the Bronx, New York after a brief illness with pancreatic cancer. He was the beloved husband of Joann to whom he was married for 55 years. Born November 5, 1937 in the Bronx New York, he was son of the late Antonio and Frances DiBitetto. He was a loving and dedicated son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He was the proud owner of Brookhill Frozen Meats Corporation in the Bronx, New York until he retired. He was a proud veteran of the US Navy and served on the USS Saratoga. He was a long time parishioner of St. Clare of Assisi Church and a member of the Santa Maria Senior Club in the Bronx for many years which he was the treasurer. He was an avid New York Giants fan and he loved his trips with his wife to Atlantic City and Aruba. Savino is survived by two his sons, Frank DiBitetto of Northport, New York where he resides with Theresa Shields and William DiBitetto and wife, Theresa of Buchanan, New York; four grandchildren, Domenic, Alec, Joseph and Angela and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
