

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Eileen Schneider (nee Brahm). Loving father of Sandra Schneider and husband Eric Stromberg, and loving step father of Ronald (Barbara) Laabs and Lisa Laabs. Dear grandpa of Zoe Stromberg, Eva Stromberg and Samantha (Weston) Oswald.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents Carlos H. and Patricia, brother Douglas (Dougie) and sister Ronni Ruth. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.
Rick was a proud volunteer member of the Richfield Fire Department, Station 2, for 34 years first serving as firefighter and EMT and then as Assistant Fire Chief. Rick was also a volunteer member of the Crandon Fire Department during his retirement.
Earlier on Rick served in the United States Air Force as Airmen Second Class from 1961 to 1965 serving as a translator and was honorably discharged.
Rick created many wonderful members with family and friends, and loved spending time with his grandchildren while in Richfield and enjoying time at the “cottage.”
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Bristol Hospice of Northern California and Mather Veterans Hospital for their compassionate care and support.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 1 at 1:00 PM at Wisconsin Memorial Park, Family Center Chapel, 13235 W. Capitol Drive, Brookfield, WI. Memorial service at 2:00 PM with entombment and luncheon to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Rick’s honor are appreciated to your local volunteer fire department or the Veteran services agency of your choice.
