Harold was one of the all-time greats!  He and I worked at the Stadium in the 80's and he was very special.  Always enjoyed his company.  Big bear of a man with a gentle soul and great grin.  Many fun times on the golf course with this guy.  He will be missed!

My deepest condolences to the families of "Gramps" Breitlow.  I am a longtime friend of Scott's and grew up seeing 'Gramps" at Bill and Kathy's house as well as his own house.  Even as a small boy and now 48 I have remembered Harold's love of life, his infectious personality and his wit.  Makes me smile just thinking about it.  We all aspire to live as long and as well as "Gramps" God Bless Harold.

I will deeply miss my amazing and loving grandfather, I am so thankful for having him in my life! He demonstrated compassion, mercy, love, family, friends and hard work along with some many other amazing qualities! I will certainly miss his stories of his journey though life and especially as a Milwaukee Police Officer, although he would often tell them over and over they will be greatly missed! I am so proud and blessed to be his grandson!

I started working at the Traffic Bureau back in 1957 when Harold was a sergeant there.  I was a naive, shy, prim, and proper lady just out of high school.  One day he came into the office and announced that he was planning a vacation to Mexico with his buddy and was concerned that he might have a problem since he didn't know the Spanich language.  I mentioned that I took two years of Spanish in high school.  He then asked, "If we see two beautiful senoritas walking down the street, what could we say to them?"  For some reason I blurted out, "Cuanto coste".  He asked me what that meant,  I explained  "What is the cost?"  That resulted in a huge explosion of laughter from him that I'm sure was heard all over the second floor of the Safety Building.  I was embarrassed and mortified and couldn't believe I had said that.  I sincerely believe that the devil made me do it.  He did have a wonderful sense of humor!

Many times our family enjoyed the company of Harold Breitlow.  My Dad, George B. Nelson was a motorcycle cop also.  Summer, Winter, Spring, and Fall these gallant men rode their cycles.  My Dad had a side car in Winter and I remember him coming home looking like a snowman many times.  He loved his friend Harold.  I hope they are enjoying a game of sheepshead and reminiscing about old times.

My deepest condolences to the family.  What a blessing to pass so peacefully & to have lived such a long life.  Bill & Kathy you did a great job taking care of Harold all these years.  I know he felt loved.  Whenever we spoke he expressed his gratitude.  He always said he had a long good life.  I have fond memories of him recalling times when Lori & Michael were young.  He was a loving grandfather.  I feel blessed to have talked with him the day before his passing.  After all these years Harold still called me sweetheart & said he loved me.  I will greatly miss him.  With loving memories.

My condolences to the family. As a child, I fondly remember Mr Breitlow coming home on his cycle down the alley way behind our apartment. He'd nod or wave as he went by, which we kids just loved, then park his bike.It was a different time, he commanded respect and honor. May his soul be blessed.
