Joyce A Gumm

Joyce Ann Gumm of Aurora, IL, was born on January 18, 1932 in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Elswerth Lucht and his wife, Hilda nee Brunner. Joyce was later born again through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism where the Lord filled her heart with a living faith in Jesus as her Savior and claimed Joyce as his own daughter. After being confirmed in her faith in Christ through God’s strong Word, Joyce publicly confessed her faith in Jesus her Savior at her Confirmation service at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Milwaukee.

On February 13, 1954, Joyce was united in marriage to Howard H. Gumm. The Lord blessed this union with a daughter and a son.

On February 24, 2025, the Lord in his infinite love and wisdom sent his angels to carry Joyce’s soul to himself in heaven at the age of 93 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard in 1997.

Joyce is mourned by her daughter Christine Gumm Sexton and her husband, Pat; by her son Tim and his wife, Linda; by 6 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; by other relatives and friends; and by her family and friends at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Downers Grove, IL.

Joyce’s Christian Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 8 at Wisconsin Memorial Park (in the Family Reception Center), 13037 Capital Drive, Milwaukee, WI. Visitation will take place from 12:30 PM until the time of the service at 1:00 PM. The service of committal will take place following the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Downers Grove, IL.
