

Born to Eternal Life, Friday, August 15, 2014, at age 96. Leroy and his beloved wife, Leona (nee Kaltenbach), were married June 29, 1946 and together they have enjoyed 68 loving years. Proud father of John (Linda), Michael (Christine), Mary Ann (James) Biernat, Joseph (Suzzanne), and Thomas (Margaret). Loving grandpa of Steven (Charleen), Joseph (Betsy) Biernat, Daniel (Maureen), Bridget (Brad) Howell, David, Laura, Matthew (Julie), Andrew (Caitlin), Michael, Keith, Sandra, Sr. Bernadette "Sarah", and Adam. Loving great-grandpa of Emma, James, Joseph, Trevor, Bryce, Brayden, Bell, Parker, Kira and Haddie. Survived by special brother William "Bud" Schueller, brother-in-law Theodore (Gloria) Kaltenbach, and sister-in-law Lorraine Kaltenbach. Preceded in death by siblings Luella (James) Holzbauer, Charlotte (John) McCauley, Pearl (Lawrence) Hacker, and Kenneth (Joan) Schueller and sibling-in-laws Sr. Imelda Kaltenbach, Elma (Paul) Hackbarth, Herbert (Evelyn) Kaltenbach, Loretta (Jerome) Fehring, and Robert Kaltenbach. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation, Tuesday, August 19, at ALEXIAN VILLAGE, 9301 North 76th St., Milwaukee, from 3:30 PM until the time of Mass, 5:30 PM. Private interment at Resurrection Cemetery.
Leroy retired from Wisconsin Electric after 47 years, and served as President of it's retirees' club for 14 years. He proudly served his country during WWII, attached to the 9th Air Force 440th Troop Carrier Group in England and France. Leroy tutored visually impaired students at MATC. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council #4645, Catholic Knights Branch 216, and Catholic Family Milwaukee NW Branch. He was active in the Milwaukee CONNtinental Youth Band Organization, 8th Air Force Historical Society and the Senior Ice skaters at the Pettit Ice Center. Leroy was Treasurer of Blessed Trinity Parish St. Vincent de Paul Conference for over 30 years and served as Lector and Eucharistic Minister at Christ King Parish.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials to Make-A-Wish-Wisconsin, Messmer High School or St. Vincent de Paul Society, appreciated.
