

A lifelong resident of Framingham, Massachusetts, Alan was born on July 22, 1939. Together with his brother Sidney, he ran and successfully managed Eastern Supply, Co., of Framingham, Massachusetts, a family business that was built and founded by his father David, and his grandfather Louis, in 1915.
Like his father before him, Alan was a caring, loving, and considerate man. Kind and generous, he was always willing to help and support others in need. His sense of integrity and strength of character were beyond reproach.
Alan is survived by his daughter, Lori Stern; his son, Daniel Shapiro; and his brother, Sidney, as well as his grandchildren, Jacob Shapiro, and Talia and Noah Stern.
He is also survived by his loving companion Merle Halpryn with whom he shared his life. He was also very fond of his nephew Michael Shapiro and his niece Laura Fardy.
Burial service will be private.
